Cristal – Chile
The flagship brand of Compañías Cerveceras Unidas which still controls the Chilean market. Part of the national heritage and also an official sponsor of the national football team.
Cristal – Peru
One of Peru’s most popular beers, however, to the discerning beer drinker it might be described as somewhat insipid.
Cusqueña – Peru
Slightly more robust than Cristal. Dating back to 1908 and originating from Cusco it is now one of Peru’s most popular.
Polar – Venezuela
This brewery started in 1941 and is the largest and best known in Venezuela. They currently produce 5 different brands of lager.

Owned by the Bavaria brewery which was founded in 1889 and is producing 9 different brands.
Pilsener – Ecuador
This is the most traditional brand in Ecuador and dates back to 1913 where it was founded in the port city of Guayaquil. Again it sponsors the national football team as well as several football clubs.
Pilsen – Uruguay
The most famous of Uruguayan brews but probably packing the least punch, still it’s very popular particularly with the younger crowd.
Patricia – Uruguay
When drunk very cold the general consensus is it’s one of the more superior South American brands. Clean, crisp and very refreshing.
